Polypipe Polyplumb

We have been working on many things recently - lots of small incremental updates for existing customers and also some big projects yet to be released. One of the smaller updates we undertook was for Grant and Stone and two buy on-line sections for Polyplumb Push Fittings and Polypipe Underfloor Central Heating.

We hope to release our next bit Actinic V9 web site / update in the next few weeks so keep checking back for updates.

Happy New Year

Chalfont Web Design wishes all our customers and blog readers a happy new year.

We've hit the ground running this year already, with several large tranches of work undertaked on behalf of clients. The most interesting is possibly the work for the Livcom Awards where they launched their 2010 registration documents in a number of languages.

We have also updated and added a number of new products and pages to CSE's web site - including Stainless Steel Cable Ties and normal Cable Ties.

We have also uploaded a number of new air compressors to the J & J Pneumatics web site.

Chalfont Park Venue for Hire

We have recently undertaken a small project to promote the hiring of the facilities of Chalfont Park Sports Association and help them to raise money for their sporting activities.

The web site is a very straight forward static site, but will be built up over the coming months to feature a number of other things.

Darcey Bussell

With the arrival of Darcey Bussell on Strictly Come Dancing, a quick mention for one of our customers from a few years ago - Ever English have three prints available of Darcey Bussell by Gordon King available for sale.

Further updates will be carried out on the site early next year.

Web Design Updates

We've been working on lots of small and bigger projects in the last few weeks. A couple of Actinic sites still under development and the odd amendment here and there.

A few bits of work we have undertaken recently includes:

• A new American Civil War section in the gallery at BritishBattles.com
• New products on Cater For You - greaseproof paper, baquet roll, piping bags and other - we have taken the photos and uploaded
• Kay Why Marketing - new look and design upgrade from the site launched earlier in the year featuring more flash and other interesting items

We were looking forward to a relaxing break between Christmas and New Year - but of course we'll be updating the VAT on our ecommerce web sites!

Silver Editions

We've been undertaking some Search Engine Optimisation consultancy on behalf of a new client called Silver Editions in Chalfont St Peter since September. They have the Erol Ecommerce package and a well established web site.

Their web site ranking is already good and just requires some fine tuning to push it further up the rankings by being clearer to Google what it is they are trying to tell it.

Although it is always dificult to tell how successful we have been over such a short period, we were able to boost the traffic over the last two months quite substantially and are looking forward to the longer term possibilities.

We have so far looked at the photo frames, Silver Cufflinks and a few other sections.

Neal Collins

We have been very busy on a number of web sites recently, both ongoing work for existing clients and also this new web site for Neal Collins.
Neal is a respected sports journalist writing for London Lite and the Evening Standard. He also appears on a number of sports news tv and radio shows.

This web site was a very interesting project as Neal generates a huge amount of unique content and often right on the edge of breaking news. This is precisely the type of site that should interest Google for example (as well as his readers) as Google loves unique fresh content.

The design of the site has a number of interesting features including:

• A flash header which we do not normally undertake as they cannot be optimised
• Integrating a twitter feed
• Integrating the blogger blog
• Putting the rss / xml blogger feed through feedburner to monitor stats
• Google Adsense to generate advertising sponsorship money
  

Neal will soon be publishing his first fiction book 'A Game Apart' based around the forthcoming South Africa World Cup. His next reporting duties though will be following the cricket tour to South Africa.
